      A SPACE TO BE

      SARAH ROWAT COUNSELLING

      Counselling in Brighton & Hove!

Welcome. My name is Sarah Rowat and I am a qualified, experienced, Person-Centred Counsellor.

I work with individuals and offer a non-judgemental, confidential and supportive counselling environment.

I do home visits and walk and talk sessions also.

I believe that the most important aspect for recovery and growth in counselling, is the relationship between the counsellor and the client.

Trust is the basis for this and the provision of the counsellor for what are called ‘the core conditions’. These include empathy, unconditional positive regard and congruence (being ‘real’). The right connection between a counsellor and client is so vital that if a client decides they are not feeling it, for whatever reason, it is a really good idea to meet with other counsellors also.

If you are stuck for whatever reason or looking for self-discovery to gain insight into moving forward then please get in touch!

      Reviews & Testimonials

I iam professionally trained and with her Person-Centred Counselling approach, many people have benefited from working with her. Hear what they have to say.

I finally feel empowered to take back control of my life. What I experienced will still effect me, but i now feel I have a clearer understanding of how to deal with my emotions and triggers.

This definitely helped. Tools to use when I feel fearful. Information about the brain’s response has been really useful in understanding why this is still effecting me after so long. Knowing I can change my reaction by as you call it ‘putting on the brakes.

Thanks for your relaxed, non-judgmental approach. I have learnt so much about myself and the reasons I’ve found it so difficult to stay focused on my recovery in the past.

Talking about the grieving process has been such a reassurance for me and has helped me come to terms with what I’ve been through. I would highly recommend it for anyone who is struggling.

Thank you so much for all your support. I was skeptical that anything could help, but talking about it to someone who understood and to know what I was feeling was normal, has made such a difference. Some days are still better than others but I know now that I can cope.

Counselling can be a very effective way to help people gain more confidence in their current situations. Understand past experiences and how they can effect the present. Build a stronger sense of identity and help build healthy inter-personal relationships.

I use the Person-Centred approach which deals with how people perceive themselves consciously, rather than an approach where the counsellor will attempt to interpret someone’s subconscious thoughts.

I am happy to help people with short-term or long-term goals and have experience in many different areas such as stress, anxiety and depression, relationship problems and feelings of low self-esteem and the general stresses of life.
